Someone left a Pooch Tube at the dog park and my dog becomes obsessed with it whenever he's there. He chews it, he and other dogs play Tug of War with it, and the toy just generally takes a lot of physical abuse without so much as a puncture mark on it. I thought, "At long last, a toy that my dog loves and won't destroy! I will order one from Amazon!"So I read the name of they toy right off of the product - Pooch Tube - then I ordered it. The Pooch Tube arrived yesterday. The packaging reads, "Tough and Durable... Made out of puncture resistant material." I eagerly gave the toy to my dog and said, "Knock yourself out."In 10 minutes the toy had a tremendous hole in it, pieces of thin, less-than-durable rubber were all over my living room.Whatever the quality of Pooch Tube used to be, when the person who left there's at our dog park bought one, that quality is no more. The quality of the material on the current line of Pooch Tube is maybe a step above what you'd get if you let Play-Doh dry out.I'm here to tell you, don't waste the time or money. (And I'm open to suggestions on long lasting, durable dog toys. Thanks!)Our Golden Retriever simply LOVES her Pooch Tubes. We toss them in the swimming pool for her and she jumps in after them. She can't enjoy the pool without them and will cry at the cabinet they are kept in until they are pulled out for her pool enjoyment. They are durable and last! We recommend them for anyone that wants a great water toy for their canine family member.I purchased one of these a few years back at a local pet supply. It lasted for these few years with a lot of rough play. The new one i purchased was suppose to be a medium. I measured my old toy and it matched the measurements that were posted here, a medium in size. When the product arrived it was a small, but labeled a medium. My old one was a medium. The dog played with it for a few minutes and it already has holes and rips in it. this toy was advertised as punchure proof and durable. Neither of which is true. The material of the new pooch tube is much cheaper than the old pooch tube toy. What a scam. The poly plastic is much softer and made of different material... i guess the original lasted to long so they make the new pooch tube product at a lower quality. Thanks for importing from china another low quality cheaply made, low labor costs products.. so much for dedication to the USA. THIS IS PROOF THAT PRODUCTS MADE IN CHINA ARE GARBAGE.....I bought 5 pooch tubes for my lab retriever. She loves running after them. The size, and the light weight of the rubber tubes is perfect for her to grab while running. They are very durable and even if your dog puntures one with her teeth, they will be no noticable differance in function. I bought a couple 2 years ago, and they are still functionable. I take them to the dog parks a let all the dogs chase them. A great buy for a reasonable price. She spends a great deal of her time in our pool, so I have a couple of them floating around there as well.Good product. Dog has not been able to destroy it and he is a standard poodle with a lot of chewing power Not one of the dogs favorites but you never know. My daughter's dog loves his.Fifty-pound standard poodle loves to play tug with this. It has a rubbery texture so it's comfortable for both of us to tug. It's just the right size and is holding up well. Also bought the large, but that has a firmer texture, better for water retrieving. We owned one of these for our previous Boston Terrier who was really rough on toys. It was his favorite toy. He did his best to destroy it but it lasted over ten years until he finally passed away. We still have it. So we bought a new one for our new Boston Terrier. It arrived last night and I noticed immediately it seemed more lightweight. Sure enough, our much smaller Boston has already pretty much destroyed this toy in less than 12 hours. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. DO NOT BUY!My Golden retriever is nearly obsessed with her pooch tube. She carries it everywhere (sometimes even to bed) and really enjoys fetching it. It does float well, and holds up despite being used every day. I tried the small and large sizes and the medium is best for her size dog. I recommend the quality and durability and especially like how well my dog enjoys playing with it.
