What can I say? This wingless bowling pen shaped duck is our puppy’s favorite toy. It’s been chewed on, thrown, snowed and rained on. It has been machine washed and air dried. It looks loved but not falling apart. Should anything happen to it, I’d buy another. I recommend this for any dog that likes to carry stuffed animals around. I can’t attest to the toughness for a dog that likes to disembowel their stuffies.I bought this toy one year for one of my parent's dog and was surprised at the size of it when it arrived since my parent's dogs are more on the smaller side. I decided to give it a go anyway and to my surprise my parent's one dog LOVES this toy. It is the only toy she likes to play with and is one of the few toys she will fetch. The durability isn't the best as my parent's dogs are more on the gentile side with their toys but a seam always comes undone and stuffing starts to come out after some months of use. I buy this same toy over and over every year for my parent's dog and she still loves it just the same every time she gets a new replacement.Great fun toy but it only lasted 15 minutes. Our 80 lb. year old Golden was simply too much for a duck!My one boy didn't like many toys but he LOVES stuffed toys that honk. Not squeak but HONK! He hasn't had a new stuffy in years since becoming a mixed family of 3 dogs and I thought he needed a toy of his own. He proudly carries around his duck for attention, honking it as he goesI'm a happy momma!I received this as a gift for my Irish Wolfhound pup and she adores it. The most amazing lifelike quack comes out of it when a bite is released. And a pup can toss it across the room by grabbing the head and flinging it. What's not to love? I admit they seem to last 3+ months at most, then the stuffing starts to come out of rips and after a few mendings it is well worth investing in a fresh one. NO fake eyes to pop out and choke a dog, just all fabric and a polyester fluff stuffing, so if you make sure not to leave a pup alone with it lest they rip it open and eat the stuffing, a GREAT toy.Where to start? Jenna absolutely adores this toy.It is like a foot long or so from end to end. The diameter of the body is like 5 inches. It is plush and requires just a bit of effort to make it squeak. There is plastic of some sort inside (like cellophane) that crinkles when chewed on.Jenna's eyes lit up when she saw this toy. She took it immediately and had a blast. Not sure what she does in her free time since she has never been hunting. Whatever...she loves this toy and takes it with her like a security blanket. Her favorite toy, - no competition. (except for a stuffed kong, maybe)So, yes....fun factor is a solid 10 for her.However....straight out of the package, the head was poorly attached. It needed to be mended right away when removed from the shipping box. If you are sewer, not a problem. If not....problem. It is not an expensive toy, but even so, it should come properly constructed. There are some reviewers who note the safety of the product because of the plastic that is internal. Jenna is a gentle chewer for a large dog, and that is not a big concern for us. But when the toy comes already coming apart at the seams and stuffing sticking out of it, then it is a problem for even a very gentle chewer. That is the reason for the deduction in stars. This is a great toy, but to get it in the mail and have to potentially send it back as soon as you get it is a huge inconvenience for some people. For instance, the closest post office to me is 30 miles away. Good thing I can sew.Definitely consider getting this for your dog, (not necessarily a chewing beast, because it is just a plush toy) but if you can find one locally then go for it so that you can get your hands on it and check the seams before purchasing it. Or order two so that you can be sure to use one while you send the other back if there is an issue. Having two is great anyway. I am considering getting a second one because she loves it so much. There are several variations of this toy out there - this one has a light frizzy material on the mid-body area (the light grey top half of the duck toy). This material pulls away very easily and was vomited up by my dog several times in just a few minutes of playing with it while supervised so we won't be using this any more. Look for one that has a thicker pyle type material on that area - I was given one by my dog's breeder that is much more play safe. These are my dog's favorite. We've gone through four or five of them -- they're not exactly sturdy, but we remove the stuffing and she still enjoys the pieces until a new one arrives :)Got destroyed by my dogs in the firs dayDucky arrived quickly and has settled in well! He has a much better quack than the last one.The squeaker is difficult for my dog (and myself) to find.Small hole appeared fairly soon after giving it to my dog but only a small part if the stitching affected. Have since sewn it back up again with no further problems. Realistic quacking sound. My dog loves this!we still have this and it has lasted with our malamute for ages now unlike others.
