First impression, very happy.170 lb; 6' tall; slim build; amateur. Challenging feet to fit - low arches and a bunion-like condition. One foot feels longer and wider than the other.I've worn Sidi's for a long time. Very durable, and the best looking - no contest. My last pair were the Sidi Push. The king of bling; I smiled each time I wore them. And you can toss them in the Washer again and again and they come out almost-new-looking. But the fit is not the greatest; comfort is adequate but not hand-in-glove. I'm going to miss them.I'm a huge fan of the Fizik Aliante' saddle. When I first sat on one, the weight distribution was so perfect I almost couldn't feel the saddle at all - and that's remarkable for something as hard as a Road Bike saddle. So when I read about the R1 fit, I was motivated to try them. Now the R1 Infinito aren't as fun to look at as the Sidi's, but they are still beautiful and extremely well-made. Sleek, simple and understated. I'm a little nervous about the fine gage of the Boa Cables; I'm wondering how long they'll last. But the closure is pure genius. I can crank all I want on the Boa's with no hot spots and no gapping on either of my dissimilar feet. The shoe simply closes up perfectly. It's really a phenomenal design. If you like Brooks running shoes or Ecco street shoes, then you'll like these. Almost every other shoe I own - especially the Sidi's - requires inserts to fit well. But not my Brooks, not my Ecco's and now, not my Fizik's. They felt great the moment I slipped them on and cranked them up.So if you value fit about all, give these a try. I think you'll be happy. While this is a great shoe I can’t help but feel like something is missing. Maybe it is that I haven’t fully broken them in but there are a couple of glaring issues that merit mention.Pros:- Dual BOA tensioners are pretty great for a tailored fit- Shoe is appropriately narrow to keep the metatarsals from excessively splaying out but doesn’t pinch toes or create hot spots- Sole is very stiff without being overly so and has a good medium arch to keep the foot supported- Fits true to size (I wear a Nike 11, Euro 44 was perfect for me)- Heel cup is form fitting and keeps the back of the foot well aligned with the rest of the shoeCons:- Lots of flex in the vamp and the body during upstroke (regardless of BOA tension) resulting in lots of movement of the foot within the shoe- High tension on the proximal BOA results in folding of the flap material and focal pressure points on the proximal 4th and 5th metatarsals- Proximal BOA knob presses into the foot at virtually any tension- Heel has a lot of latitudinal movement (doesn’t really wander left to right but slips up and down in the shoe a lot during hard pedaling)It took my feet a little while to get used to these shoes, but overall they feel very stiff, light, and of high quality. The insole they come with is pretty poor, but I don't really blame Fizik, because it is impossible to create a shoe that can fit everyone perfectly. I swapped the insole for a tread labs carbon insert and it is much more comfortable. My only complaint is that the 2nd BOA crank (one closest to the front of the shoe) tightens the wire down that is directly over the bone that sticks out on the top of my foot. I believe the medical term is called exostosis, and is usually more prominent on people that have a more aggressive foot arch like myself. Anyway, I have found that I cannot crank that 2nd BOA very much because it will put direct pressure on that area. Regardless, the shoe still fits pretty well, and I can crank the 1st BOA pretty tight, so there is very little movement. Just something others may want to consider if you also have a similar foot structure like mine.Beautiful shoes! I ordered per the previous comments, and was disappointed in the fit. I wear a 10.5 US shoe, my older Sidi's are size 45 EU, but Fiz'ik says I should wear a 44. So I ordered a 44. Fit was too small! My toes were touching at the tips, personal preference is that's uncomfortable. Returned them the same day and ordered a size up. Two days later had the 45's and they fit just fine! Only concern is shoes came in a Fiz'ik shoe box that the seals had been broken on. Newer Pais didn't even come in a Fiz'ik shoe box at all?. I wonder why, oh I know, the right shoe had slight scuffing on the heel. I'm guessing these are returns and are resold on Amazon. The scuffs were so minimal that I can overlook then for the quality of shoe and fit I get from them.Beautiful shoes! I ordered per the previous comments, and was disappointed in the fit. I'm usually super brand loyal, and Sidi fits my foot shape extremely well, but the Fizik Infinito's were just too good to pass up. The fit is very much like the Sidi's (I have a bit of a narrow foot with high arch), but beware of sizing. I wear a 45 in Sidi, but needed a 44 in Fizik. The biggest difference is in the power transfer with a full carbon sole, especially when climbing. The downside of the stiff sole is foot soreness on long rides. I did a century in these and felt it - I may try a pair of Super Feet inserts to see if that improves. Also be aware that the Boa dials are very hard to fine tune with wet hands. Otherwise, great shoes and a huge step from nylon soles and velcro closures.A truly outstanding shoe. Stiff with a great heel cup and noticable improvements in the tongue and side bokstering. A major upgrade over previous iteration of the R1, which is no small accomplishment as they were a great shoe as well. The manufacturer doesn't want to deal with clients that didn't buy on their site, and amazon only support client for 30 days... no no warranty on this productOtherwise great shoesProduct was shipped quickly, a good price for a high quality shoeLight, stiff , good fitting shoe; the BOA system is flawless!Shipped fast, perfect fit very stiff yet comfortable and they look great.足のフィット感を調整しやすい。インソールが柔らかいので、R3につかっていたインソールに交換しています。
