Works like a charm, all the grandkids got one to be used only when they are with their parents.?It’s fun and got it Quick and on timeThis product is cute and my son likes it but it's hard to get a good sound out of it even for us unless the slide is pulled all the way out. I don't remember what I paid for it but I wish I had gone with something elseWhen my kids asked for a "slide whistle", I had no idea what it was. Luckily, Santa knew what one was and pointed me to the internet... As it turns out, the sudden desire for a slide whistle stems from a SpongeBob episode... So with that in mind, I was none too thrilled to have to track it down for Christmas! I did, though, and tucked it into the kid's stockings. Imagine my surprise when the kids have spent about 5.5 hours so far running around the house playing with their little slide whistle! First of all, it is not the loud, shrill sound of a typical whistle (think sports games -- NOT like that). It has a nice, harmonious sound. While the kids can make a loud blow into it and thus increase the volume, that seems to take a lot of effort and does not happen too often. I am pleasantly surprised how, in this high-tech era, the kids have gotten so much enjoyment out of a non-electronic device! Thank you SpongeBob for the slide whistle idea!Great product. For the price and our intended purpose (entertaining a little kid) this whistle is great. Not too loud, pretty sturdy.If you wanted this whistle to actually play musically, I wouldn't recommend it. But as a toy it's just fine.Great sturdy toy, watch out for your little one’s fingers tho! The slide can stick and pinch their fingers when it quickly goes back up.My 3 year old dtr and 16 month old son still love this after several months of play. Sound is good (aka not annoying). Highly recommend! And sturdy.I bought this whistle as a gift thinking it would be great because it's made from wood. The person I bought it for told me it doesn't work very well, and it's too short. He felt it may have worked better if it was a little longer and the cheap plastic one I bought him works way better. We were both disappointed and would not really recommend. On a positive note it's better made then the cheap plastic ones and will probably last longer. Recommend for a younger child. This is why I gave it a 3 rating.I bought this mostly to be funny, but the quality of the product is actually pretty good! The sound isn't TOO piercing either, which is a blessing to our household believe me.It looks nice and is a bit larger than expected but it doesn't work well. I don't know if it's just mine because everybody else's reviews seem to say theirs work perfectly. Mine doesn't feel like it fits together well, too much air escape from the space between the plunger/stick and the whistle. No sound actual comes out once I pull the plunger more than halfway.I bought this for her son for his birthday four years ago. He still uses it LOL and entertains her little one with his beautiful music. Sturdy and strong kid proof so farI gave this to a young girl in the Caribbean. Days later she was still playing with great enjoyment. I don't know who was happier; her from playing or me from watching. Fun toy!
