Update: 3/22/16 -- I've now had Hydro Ring for about a year and a half and it is just now starting to fall apart. My dog isn't a particularly strong chewer. I think that what has done it in is that I started coating it with peanut butter, pushing it into the holes and ridges. He would spend an hour or so enjoying it. I'm thinking about getting another one because of its great erratic bounce and because it really works well for rubbing peanut butter on (freezing made it even better). My dog didn't quite get the idea in his teething days, but now he loves to use this in place of a ball. I makes crazy bounces and he can't predict which way it will go. Of course, we no longer bother with soaking and freezing it.We keep this perpetually in the freezer and pull it out as a "treat" for our best of a dog, he is Border Collie/Golden/Lab who knows if/what else mix and can tear through things rather quickly. He enjoyed it more before his adult teeth were completely in, now he seems to get bored. He greedily grabs it, chews on it (there are not noticeable marks yet) then seems uninterested once it is no longer freezing, then I wash it, and re-freeze it.If your puppy is teething I would recommend it, otherwise I do not think it will hold their interest. The Medium Hydro-Bone is our French Bulldog's absolute favorite toy. Since he is mostly in the house and we are in moderate coastal climate we have not tried adding water or freezing it. He loves them just as they are. The small and large sizes don't seem to be as attractive to him as the medium is. After about two weeks of play with one he starts to rip them apart- then we give him a new one!The bone is harder than I thought it would be. Almost plastic-like. It doesn't hold as much water as I thought it would. The seams of the product already look as if they may break apart and I've only introduced this toy to my dog. He hasn't really played with it yet. If he likes the toy and it holds up I will update this review.overall good product but significant rubber smell that my dogs did not like. The toy is messy as the ice melts. My dogs are mainly indifferent to the toy in general. My dog really won't play with it but its okay. It's kinda hard but there is no taste, guess that's why he don't likemy 10lbs ChiBo tore through this in less than a day. 3 stars as it was the color and size that they describedI love the concept, but I sent mine back because it was made in China and did not list the materials used in it on the packaging. There is no way to know if this is toxic or safe for your pet to chew/suck on.Good idea poor quality. The ring had split along the seam within 5 min of use resulting in dog ( small schnauzer) ingesting a load of synthetic material used to absorb water. Dangerous and disappointingPup used it frequently, especially straight from the fridge and it lasted even though it didn't seem substantial
