My daughter was a huge fan of Skylanders, which was the original video game that required you to buy endless figures and paraphernalia for use in the game. She is also a huge fan of Disney, so I thought Disney Infinity would be a huge hit at our house. It wasn’t. She just never really got into it - and I kept encouraging her by buying the figures of her favorite characters. She did play Disney Infinity some, but it just never took hold the way Skylanders did.THE KID SAYS: The included toy box modes had good stories but beyond that there was so little direction that some people could get overwhelmed. The stories were easy to finish up and after that it was hard for me to come up with ideas for the sandboxes.I bought this as a present for a 9 year old, and she loved it. Elsa is now her favorite new Infinity character. The only disappointment is that in the Infinity world you have to have a clear "game piece" which comes in the Infinity starter pack and with certain other packs but not this one. This clear piece allows you to enter the world of that character. From looking at the store, it made it look like you could enter the world of the character just through the figurines, but to truly enter their "world" and not just play with them in the "toy box" of infinity, you have to have that clear piece. Hopefully Disney will come out with more clear game piece world options soon. But works great, and the throwing of snowballs and everything is a great feature! Loved that it came with both characters from the movie! The figures are really nice and my daughter (3) loves just running around as Elsa, however that's the core of the problem - all you can really do with them IS run around with Elsa and Anna. The two "Adventures" that come with are very simple mini-games that provide 5 mins of gameplay max. Since Infinity doesn't allow figures to be used in other IP's Play Sets you can't bring these great characters into any other gameplay and MUST play with the appropriate character for the movie/book/etc. Meaning there's not much you can really do with these figures. There are some neat toy box locations that people have made and shared online with the Frozen winter assets but that doesn't make up for the lack of a solid campaign/mission based gameplay to use these characters for. I would love to be able to play thru elements of the movie with these characters like you can with The Incredibles, Monsters U, and Pirates. Maybe Disney will eventually provide downloadable gameplay packs for these figures in the future? But most likely these are one off figures that will never get more to do with them and Disney will move on to Infinity 2.0 which will require new figures to be purchased at exorbitant prices (cynical I know). The messaging and marketing of these figure/play set boxes needs to improve greatly as I was quite unclear what box comes with what in terms of actual things to do with them and how much bang you're getting for your buck.I have a couple younger ladies who adore the movie. These characters and the matching play set discs are a nice combo pack. The downloadable worlds for Frozen are nice to have. I know it isn't an option yet, but it would be more fun to use these characters in other worlds, like the Pirates world with Capt Jack, instead of being restrained to the "toy box" world.I would have also preferred the enclosed toy box discs were not also made available to other purchases. I ended up with duplicates of both.At the time I bought the Frozen sisters I didn't realize they are version 1 characters. For those of you new to the game, version 1 characters have barely any moves and no combo's like most version 2 and 3 characters have. Elsa makes up for it a little because she can freeze enemies which is pretty over powered, but Nobody likes playing Anna; her moves are boring, all she can do is hit with a shovel and grapple hook (Where did they come up with that idea?!). She's just not very fun, but I understand there are a lot of kids out there that are huge Frozen fans. It just seems like they could have been so much better. To make matters worse they don't come with a play set piece, which makes no sense considering how popular the movie was.I bought these for my 6 y.o. sister for Christmas.I read other reviews and I knew it would be boring, but I thought, 'Hey, it's my sister's first video game console and game. Boring means easy.'She loves the characters, but after getting in there and playing the game, you realize that LITERALLY all Anna and Elsa do is run around in the Toy Box mode and get sparks to level up -- for what? The enemies are all ridiculously easy to defeat and you have to put them in yourself. I seriously spend more time placing villains in than actually defeating them. It's completely ridiculous. There are a couple of mini games which are equally boring. Seriously, go look up 'Disney Infinity : Frozen Anna & Elsa Gameplay' on YouTube. Even while playing the gamers are complaining that they could have built a better level. Which is true, ANYONE could have built better levels than this. It's extremely expensive for what you get -- two figurines and the two disc thingies -- that don't do anything in the actual game. This is no Kingdom Hearts, and it's not good just because it's Disney. It's the PITS.Hopefully my sister will be over how pretty it looks soon so I can sell the lot on eBay and buy her a better, less boring game.Oh, and I bet Amazon knows about how disappointed the customers are with this. Because the near five-star review is only that high because they mixed the reviews in for these figurines with the reviews for other Disney Infinity figurines -- like Toy Story and Lone Ranger, which do have actual story modes.I bought this for the kids for Christmas and it has already had lots of use! Ideal for little girls who love Frozen but who have to play with an older brother who is into Star Wars characters, etc... They have had some very interesting adventures together in the Toybox with their various infinity characters! Very pleased....Quickly received and well packaged, as with all Disney infinity characters these are lots of fun but can only be used on the toybox and in the actual game. Kids loved the frozen sky and ground patterns they can use when creating their own worldNice set does it's jobAs it says in the description good quality and delivered quicklyArrived in perfect condition, thanks.
